Rob joined the Royal Horticultural Society as Curator of Hyde Hall in April 2015, and oversees the horticultural management of the 365 acre site.

Rob trained at the Welsh College of Horticulture and has a Kew Diploma in Horticulture, and an MSc in Environment and Development Education from South Bank University. He has had a varied career mainly working in botanic gardens, which includes the Royal Botanic Gardens Kew and managing the glasshouse collections at Cambridge University Botanic Garden. He was Curator for the temperate collections at The Eden Project, and before joining Hyde Hall, was responsible for the setup, delivery and management of an up to date and comprehensive plant growth facility at The Sainsbury Laboratory in Cambridge.

Trustee and President of the Kew Guild 2023-25.
