Sara has been the Secretary of the Kew Guild since 1996 and latterly taking on the role of Membership Officer.

Sara was born in London and moved to Basingstoke with her parents when she was very young. Settling in Winchester, Sara has been a freelace PA and Secretary for 28 years. 

Introduced to the Guild by Graham Burgess and supporting Secretaries and Presidents such as Kenwyn Pearson, Tom Risely and Graham Heywood, Sara is the first point of contact for Trustees, Officers and Members. 

"Building rapport with members is essential and I really enjoy the interraction with such a wide range of people ", says Sara.  

At the 2025 AGM, Sara received the George Brown Memorial Award from the Trustees, a moment of unexpected recognition that deeply moved her. In her heartfelt thanks, she acknowledged the Trustees, Presidents, and members she has supported since 2006. “To be given this award is a tremendous honour,” she said, reflecting the warmth and gratitude of the occasion.
