It was discussed at the Kew Guild AGM and we have put the following thoughts together on the following trip activities at the last trustee meeting. We are trying to gauge interest and so please could you fill in the table below and return it to the Secretariat before the 15th December 2023. You can respond as a yes to all three if you wish. All visits are in the planning stage and will be dependent upon the number of people wishing to join us. Numbers are looking promising at the moment.

1. Weekend in Kent, including Bedgebury Pinetum and Hole Park and Gardens. Organised by Pamela Holt. 18th and 19th may 2024.

Saturday 18th May 2024: Guided tour of Bedgebury Pinetum, Goudhurst, with Curator Dan Luscombe. Meet at visitor entrance 10.30 am. Car parking to be paid on arrival but tour is free. Lunch may be taken at the visitor centre and exploration of this interesting estate at your leisure afterwards.

Sunday 19th May 2024: Hole Park Gardens, Rolvenden, tour with owner Edward Barham and garden staff member. Meet at 10.30am in courtyard for tea/coffee and cake on arrival. Lunch may then be ordered to save time when tour complete. £11 per person.

Day visitors to either event welcome.

Guild members will be sent directions and accommodation suggestions in the new year. Hole park can accept final numbers and payment up to one week in advance of the event. They are very accommodating.

2. A visit to RHS Garden Hyde Hall, with Curator Rob Brett. Saturday 8th June 2024. 365 acres, but still under development. Largest of all the 5 RHS Gardens it has now become the largest visitor attraction garden in the east of England.

3. Tuscany Trip organised by Margaret Ronchetti and David Hardman. Regional tour of the delights of Tuscany, including garden visits to Villa Marlia Garden, Iris Festival Orto Botanico, Florence, Lucca Botanic Garden, Pisa Botanic Garden and Botanical Museum, Siena Botanic Garden, Boboli and Bardini Gardens, plus other Tuscany delights.
